Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt - Light(s)

Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt time again. My kids are happy that time seems to be flying by - Christmas will get here that much sooner. But me? Things could slow down a bit!

This week's theme is "light(s)."

I have the most amazing view out my back windows. Truly there isn't a bad time of day to look in that direction. In the morning I get the sun rising over the Sandia Mountains; in the evening, the setting sun turns the mountains pink and reflects off the windows of the city with diamond-like sparkles. And at night, the lights of the city twinkle like thousands of colorful jewels. They twinkle and shimmer and almost seems to dance a little in place - it's mesmerizing.

Here are two shots I've taken of the lights. I wish my camera did them justice. But these will have to do.

S.P.S.H. - Light(s)

One I took this summer during a night-time lightning storm.
I like the way the lightning makes a sillouette of the mountains.

This one I took this week. The city decorated itself for Christmas.

Great photo!! :) I absolutely love lightning. I try to get photos but it never works. Here we don't get the really cool lightning.

Mine is up :)

Great shot! You captured the lightning beautifully, but I also love how the city lights contrast with what seems like a black and white. Cheers!

That is a lovely view out your window! And the lightning storms on the mountain must be something in "real life".

Such interesting photos. The top one almost looks black and white until you see the lights at the bottom.

I love lightning as well. I'm usually out near the car, snapping away and just hoping that one or two out of the bunch will have that glorious streak of power show up. Would that our reaction time was as fast as the lightning.... if so, we would never have to buy replacement china! ;)

I can never get enough sunrises or sunsets or city skylines.
Thanks for stopping by.

Cool. I love the lightening picture. My dh and I were staying in a cabin on top of a mtn. when a lightening storm came. I have some pictures of lightening bolts. We were in the middle of the lightening. It was scary, and awesome all at the same time.

BTW, where do u live? I live in the Smoky Mtns. We have views similar to that.

Mine is up, too. Stop by if you get a chance. Have a great weekend.

Those are really beautiful, especially the one with the mountains in silhouette.

How gorgeous is that! What a breathtakingly beautiful view! It's funny, you know you see all these homes built way up high and you tell yourself, "wow, these people must have incredible views" but up until now this is my first confirmation! You are so blessed...what an inspiration!
Especially for those like myself that live in the flattest state in America, Florida! lol
