Fall Reading Challenge

Katrina, over at Callapidderdays, is challenging us to Fall into Reading. Maybe I'll even be the lucky winner of the $10 Amazon.com gift certificate prize she's giving away.

I'm happy to play along, even without the gift certificate motivation. I enjoy reading but don't always make time to do it as much as I'd like. Pastormac and I have enjoyed reading to each other since we were just an engaged couple, although with each family addition our time to do it has diminished.

This list is a combination of the books that I'm reading for a book club I belong to and also a few that I've added.

Here's my list.

  • If You Will Ask by Oswald Chambers

  • A Voice in the Wind by Francine Rivers

  • What Happens When Women Walk in Faith by Lysa Terfeurst

  • Ann of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery

  • Black by Ted Dekker

  • I'm Chocolate, You're Vanilla: Raising Healthy Black and Biracial Children in a Race-Conscious World by Marguerite Wright

  • Attaching in Adoption: Practical Tools for Today's Parents by Deborah D. Gray

  • Sister Carrie by Theodore Dreiser

  • Christ in Concrete by Piertro di Donato

  • The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith

  • Scorpia (Alex Rider Adventure) by Anthony Horowitz

  • Populuxe by Thomas Hine

What an interesting list. This challenge has already helped me make more time to read (or choose it over other activities).

I love reading to you and listening to you read! Maybe we just need to set up some reading dates!

I keep a roughly current list of my readings on my own blogsite. It's on the sidebar and from there you can go to the page called Reading which talks briefly about each book. This reminds me It's seriously out of date. Need to update it. Nonetheless is does give an idea of what I'm reading.

All I can say is that when you read A Voice In The Wind, you'd better have Echoes in the Darkness standing by. It is the follow up to the first book and you will NOT be happy if you have to wait for the conclusion to a story that is wonderful in so many ways.

Great list. Be careful - once you read Black, you'll want to go right onto Red, and White! Thanks for joining the challenge!

And after Echo of Darkness you better have the 3rd book handy: As sure as the Dawn. It's an awesome trilogy. And Black is very good too! Teen Daughter is starting that one too! Have "Red" and "White" ready to go with that one, too, so you don't forget characters. Great list! Happy reading!

The "Fall Reading Challenge" sound great! I'm in! I love to read, and it's been a long time since I have been able to read anything other than a textbook. I am more than willing to take on this challenge to begin to once again read things that I enjoy. Thanks.

How funny is that! I also have Black on my Fall Reading Challenge list. I've started it already. It's pretty good so far.
