Thematic Photographic - Drink

Carmi's Thematic Photographic for the week has been "drink." I've had a fun time perusing the different pictures of the photographers who took up the challenge.

Here are a couple of photos of my drink of choice. (Actually it's more like an addiction.)

Ahhhhh, makes me thirsty just looking at it.

Photo Hunters - Yellow

What a perfect theme for this fine spring day! are searching for a picture of "yellow." Can't wait to see what lovely things we see today.

So many fun ways to capture "yellow!"

Sweetly has a great photo of one of my all time favorite flowers. And I really like the creative way that Sweetanlo has chosen to show us some yellow. These are two great new bloggers (oh, no! I'm not biased at all!) Won't you please drop by and leave them a an encouraging comment? And if you have a little time, surf around some of their other posts. Sweetanlo is a writer and Sweetly is a photographer. Both with many good things to share. (oh no, not biased at all!) I think you'll be glad if you followed them. They both have some terrific posts including their "yellow" photos for today's Hunt.

Here's my photo for our "yellow" theme.

I dare you to look at this photo and not feel that pull and tightening at the sides of your mouth! Betcha can't keep your mouth from watering! Pucker up!

Photo Hunters - Four

Playing late today. Not sure why, since this week's challenge was an easy one for me. Photos of "four."

Waiting until today did allow me to peruse and admire the offerings of many talented Photo Hunter friends. The Mecombers Travel Photojournal has a really cute photo of four. Little Peanut's picture made me hungry. I knew I could count on Criz for some cuddly shots of my favorite pet. But Hootin Anni's Four may just be my favorite for the week - the Yucca Flower is near and dear to my heart.

My choice for the week was immediately clear. I chose this guy and in the first picture he's telling you why.

Love Thursday

I tell you, the more I think, the more I feel
that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people.

-Vincent van Gogh

#1Son is an artist. He's eleven. He literally draws for hours and hours each day.

He's still not sure if he's talented.

Thematic Photographic - Transparent

I'm just squeaking in before the deadline for Carmi's Thematic Photographic this week.

Better late than never I'd say because I had so much fun searching out photos of things that are "transparent," it would be a shame not to share them.

Photo Hunters - Space

This week's theme was a tough one for me. Last night, as I sat here thinking of photos of "space," all that came to mind were pictures that I WISH I had taken...

Like the amazing moon photos that JC and Shinade took, or Photo Cache's arial shot of parking spaces, something to inspire like Annie's "sacred spaces", or a photo to instill a little space-envy like Becci's crafty space. I wished I had a picture of a wide open space like Jams o Donnell's or an astronaut photo like, Sassy Mom.

Frustrated, I decided to sleep on it.

This morning my little space presented itself to me.

It's the tiniest of spaces and will vanish soon when his adult tooth pushes up to fill its vacancy. But this little space fills my heart up with love - right up to the top and overflowing.

Staying Sane (apparently it's possible)

I have been a huge fan of Mary at Owlhaven for more than three years now. I began reading her blog faithfully as we experienced our adoption adventure, even before beginning my own blog. As an adoptive mom herself, and the mother of many, I trust her wise counsel, enjoy reading about her family and truly appreciate her accessibility and friendship.

I'm so thrilled to announce that Mary's new book, Sane Woman's Guide to Raising a Large Family is about to be released! I can't wait to read it.

Mary is giving away four copies of her new book. Head over to her blog for the details.

As for me, whether I win a copy or have to buy a copy, you can be sure I will be reading this book come April.

Congratulations Mary!
