Works-For-Me Wednesday
I was having terrible trouble misplacing my wallet once I arrived home. I would come into the house and lay it down wherever - sometimes the kitchen or maybe the office, on the piano or the school table or my bed. And so the next time I was heading out the door I was always frantically searching and stressing. I also didn't like that nervous feeling of worry about whether I had lost it. And I think that Pastormac was getting a little tired of hearing, "Do you know where my wallet is?" and of having to help with a panicked search.
So I decided that the first thing I would do when I walk in the door is go straight to my dresser and put my wallet away where it belongs. It takes a little self-discipline especially when I get rushed at the door by kids and dog and husband. But now that I've made it a habit, it's no problem to make that the first thing I do. And lo and behold! When I'm leaving the next time - it's right where I put it! No trouble, no stress, no worry! Works for me!

great idea! I always have to put my purse down in the same spot right when I come in too :)
I've often thought of getting one of those clapper things so that I could locate my purse and wallet. :D
The discipline thing is what gets me, I do it so absentmindedly, but they say if you do something for 30 days it then becomes a habit so I'm going to work on this one!
Great idea. I always forget where I put my purse.

Good plan. I always do that with my keys. I have a little hook that I place them on whenever I'm done using them. If they're not on that hook, I get scared!!
Now if only you could have written that before I lost my keys this week.....
I don't have a problem with this since I leave my wallet in the appropriate purse at all times, but my boy sure does! He's continuously leaving home without his wallet and has to drive back to get it. I've tried teaching him to put it in one place, like you did, but I think he's lacking the discipline. I'm gonna have to push the issue on him now that you reminded me of it! =)
I guess I should start having a little more "sameness" in my life, then maybe I would feel a little more organized. I love following your family and your posts! Blessings, Sandra
