Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt - New

It's the last Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt of 2006! Boy I've had fun being a part of the hunt and I look forward to the upcoming year. I hope that you'll consider joining the hunt in 2007. Drop by here to find out how. Come on! It gets your creative juices flowing and it's fun!

The theme this week is appropriately "new."

A month or so ago I wrote this post about my kids' desperate wish for snow. Well, the week before Christmas they finally got their wish and we got a really good snow. The most snow we've gotten in forever. (It doesn't snow here much.) The kids were anxious to get out in and play. I thought, "Madness!" and stayed inside, safe and toasty, coaching and taking pictures from the backdoor. (I am NOT a snow-person.)

For Shorty, who is almost 5, it really was his first real experience with snow. And he LOVED it. They built a snowman and named him Jeff Froze. They had snowball fights, which he REALLY enjoyed. They caught snowflakes on their tongues. He loved.it.all. For him, It was white and cold and wonderful and definitely "new".

So here's my entry for the hunt this week.

S.P.S.H. - New

It snowed again all.day.long today. I can see at least 6-8 inches out the back window. Bet you can guess where Shorty will be tomorrow. Happy S.P.S.H.! See you next year.

Great photos! :) Children certainly love new, fresh-fallen snow. We still haven't had any snow yet this year, and that's fine by me - I'm not a fan of the cold or the snow!

Great choice for new. :) Have fun watching your kids enjoy the snow. :)

And a very cute snowman being the result! They look like they are having a great time! We got the big snow the day after boxing day and I'm glad because it was very wet and slippery. But it does make great snowmen!

We have been getting dumped on with snow. Enduring our second storm within a week. Hadn't fully dug out of the first one when the second one it. I love your pictures of the new snow. The last picture with everyone surrounding whom I'm assuming is Jeff Frost is nice.

Wishing you and your family a Happy New Year :)

Oh what a sweet picture!! Thatis a keeper for sure and what a great picture for NEW...It was like God said, "well, she needs a picture today for NEW, let's give her one" and here it was just for you!! GREAT!!
Yes we are both mourning here!! It has not been a very happy day. We buried her by our back steps in the back yard. It made me almost sick to see such a sweet cat with such a warm and loving personality have to die like that. I will miss her for a long time. Sandy

Oh how fun with the snow! Did you guys get any snow today? (I'm not sure if I asked you before where in NM you live). I woke up and was surprised to see snow covered the ground and that it was still falling. Of course it's all melted now. Took Kayla out in it for a little bit and she was not impressed!

In Mississippi a 4 inch snow was a blizzard! We haven't even hit the 32 degree mark here in Virginia Beach more than once or twice. I see there are 70 temps and thunderstorms in our New Year's Day forecast.
Enjoy!
