It's Bloggy Giveaway Time Again!

Bloggy Giveaways Quarterly Carnival Button

It's Bloggy Giveaway time already! And it's crazy how many giveaways are already posted - over 1000! Wow!

I like my giveaway. I'd like to win it myself. Alas and alack, it will have to one of you.

We have been sponsors through Compassion International since 1991. I believe in Compassion so much, I've been an member of their Advocate Network for seven years. I know that Compassion uses sponsorship funds to release children in Third World countries from poverty - spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty & enable them to become responsible and fulfilled Christian adults. And the best part is: it happens one-on-one - you matched with a child in need. If you really give it a try, I guarantee you it'll change both your lives. I know this because I've been able to see it first hand. You can take my word for it, because I've lived it and I'm changed forever. There are children waiting for sponsors right now. Take a look.

Oh yeah, the giveaway! Sorry. Once I get started talking about Compassion, it's hard for me to stop.

To support Compassion's Global Food Crisis Fund the winner of my giveaway will receive one of these nifty "Please" t-shirts.
You pick the Country/Language you want from the four they offer. I'll purchase it and send it to you. I have this t-shirt with the word "Please" in Amharic (Ethiopia). It's super cool! You want one, trust me.

And to sweeten this giveaway, I'm also giving away a Starbucks giftcard for $15.

If you're not a coffee drinker, they do have some new teas you can try out. I thought the Vanilla Rooibos tea latte was pretty good but I'm partial their iced non-fat chai latte. Yum! Told you I'd like to win my own giveaway but I promise I won't enter.

One winner both prizes! To be entered in my giveaway, just leave me ONE comment. The giveaway is open to anyone living in the US or Canada with a valid email address (no blog necessary.) Just be sure that I have a way to contact you should you win. You don't have to in order to win but I'd love for you to use your comment to tell me how you're changing the world. I'm closing comments on Saturday, January 31st at 7PM & I will use a random number generator to select the winner. Good luck!

There are a bazillion more giveaways for you to enter here! I'm not even exaggerating! Come back by The Production and visit sometime.

A big "Thank You!" to Chilihead for organizing the Bloggy Giveaways.

How am I changing the world? Well, I am trying to do it through my children. I am trying to make things second nature for them that weren't for me. Such as growning your own food and recycling. I am also teaching them to be compassionate people (which is in my nature). I am going to go look at the different languages now!

This really is an amazing giveaway. As for how I'm trying to help change the world? I'm not really sure...I mean, a friend and fellow blogger and I started doing auctions for books marked up by authors or other notable people...all the money goes to First Book to get books in the hands of those less fortunate. I love to read and think all kids should have books, so it's been great doing that and we hope to continue it next year.

I bought a goat for a family in a 3rd world country for a christmas gift to my family. we dont need material things, so I just made up cards that talked about the gift we gave. this gift will give a family food but also will allow them to make money selling milk at market and creating other products. its truly a great gift. if they can get two goats then they are able to breed goats and make a living for themselves.

We thank the Lord for using us to change the world. Through Gospel for Asia (www.gfa.org), we have been supporting native missionaries, Jesus wells, sponsoring children, and buying Gospel tracts & Bibles for the native missionaries to hand out. We also support the Jesus Film project which shows the Jesus film to the unreached areas of the world. We used to sponsor children through World Vision and Compassion International for many years until a few years ago when we switched to Gospel for Asia. We take the Great Commission seriously. We open our home for the international students from a local university to come study the Bible and to have game nights. We are raising our children to love the Lord, love others as themselves, live by the Book, and have a passion for reaching the lost (especially the unreached) with the Gospel.

Living in the light of eternity,
Urailak

What we are doing to change the world. Not as much as we'd like. We donate to coats for kids, save pop tabs to give to the Ronald Mcdonald House, save box tops to help out the local schools. It's only small things, but they are things even those of us in the really low income brackets can do to help.

Of all the bloggy contests this week, I would have to say that this one is my favorite so far. The tee-shirt is fantastic -- love the Bengali and Amharic shirts especially -- and the cause behind them is even better.

I'm not sure how much I'm changing the world, but I am trying to do some good with the research I do as a social psychologist looking at how identifying with characters in books and films can change people's hearts and minds and encourage them to rethink their prejudices and biases. If I'm contributing to a greater level of collective compassion in some slight way, then I'm pleased!

I am changing the world by trying to teach my kids to be more caring towards others in need...providing food and clothing or going on missions trips to help others, etc.

I am pushing the buy local movement by being involved with our local Farmers market (selling our produce and handmade items!). Thanks for the chance.

GLOBAL FOOD CRISIS-ECO NAVY CREOLE TEE would be my choice.

I volunteer for the Parter Campaign at the YMCA. I'm a member of VOWs (Volunteers of Wildwood). We have food and toy drives, clean up days at the park and other events to help our local community.

Thank you so much for the giveaway and I love Starbucks hot cocoa.

I am changing my world by raising responsible, loving children (That is the plan). I hope to inspire and encourage the other young people around me to live a better life as well.

Some days it feels like I'm changing the world one diaper at a time, but mostly I just try to raise my children to be conscious of the world around them and try and conserve.
Thanks for the chance.

I'm helping to change the world my slowly making "green" changes in my home and every day life. One of the biggest I have done is using public transportation or walking.

I'm also making a pledge to donate at least $10 to a differnt charity every month.

I am trying to "change the world" by being kind to others..even to those who I find difficult. Giving to help others...food, clothing, etc. Trying to live my life by Christian Standards which says to love my neighbor as myself. Practical ideas of "going green" to help our planet to survive.
P.S. I am going to comment on your post The Child

I am trying to change the world by educating my son about the lives of people around the world and how they may differ from ours. We sponser an African child through our Sunday School and send cards to her. Our church also raises money to buy "farms" for disadvantaged people in an attempt to give them the start that they need to be successful.

It may not change the world dramatically, but I hope that because I am raising my daughters to be kind, compasionate people that the may make a difference in someone's life someday...either in a big way, or a small way.

I am changing the world because I have been a teacher for 20 years. I teach caring, compassion, understanding, helping each other, and kindness among many other things as well as the subjects in the school curricculum. It is wonderful when you see the character traits your have modeled, discussed, and read about being spontaneously shown by the children. That's one of the reasons I love to teach!

If I won, I would love to have the Portuguese red T-shirt! Thanks for your generous double item giveaway!

We try to do small things that might make a difference- reduce reuse reusable, as little packaging as possible, we give when and where we can- time talent and resources. It's not much but we try to do our part.
