Glad I stopped by Mom to the Screaming Masses. I might have forgotten Love Thursday altogether. (And her pictures were so cute!)
Here's my picture for today.
Yesterday afternoon while I was suffering with the stomach crud - again for the 3rd time in 2 weeks! (What's up with that?!), I was feeling a little chilled. So I wrapped myself in a cozy afghan and laid down for a nap. I felt comfortable and warm and as I looked at myself all wrapped up, I thought to myself, I love these blankets.
I love my afghans. Each one is special. Each has it's own story and personality. Each one was crocheted or knitted together with loving hands and warm thoughts of love and sometimes prayers. Joe Cool has been know to say that sleeping under one is like a hug from Lo (our friend who made it). I have to agree.
Go on over to Chookooloonks for Love Thursday. You should consider joining yourself.

Those are really lovely. My gramma made an afghan that I used and used until it literally fell apart.
My grandmother made some really beautiful afghans before she passed and mailed them to us. 1 for each. You are right.. They do make you feel so warm & cozy.
Hand made items are always better than store-bought, because of the love involved. Thanks for sharing your memory. Happy Love Thursday!
you have time to nap?
no. seriously.
You do?
Good question s@bd!
Only when I'm throwing up, or in this case trying not to. :0)
In other words - rarely, very rarely.
I hope it won't be long before you are snuggling your Ethiopian little one in one of those blankets. Keep hoping and believing.

Beautiful afghans and so extra special when they come with a story!
What beautiful afghans you have! I love to curl up with a nice, soft, warm, comfortable throw/afghan/blanket too! Especially with a good book to read! Hope you are feeling better soon!
I love love love handmade cozies -- I hope they help you feel better soon! That's a lot of tummy trouble in a short time.
hugs

I can so relate! how wonderful that you can wrap yourself up in so much love!
Oh yes! I love afghans. Just knowing the love, time and dedication that goes into one makes them oh so special. Can totally relate, especially with these cooler temps we've been having. Thanks for sharing.
Afghans are one of my favorite things in the world (especially when they're hand-made). My mother in law makes us a new one every Christmas, and I so look forward to receiving them. I hope that your feeling better today. Happy Love Thurday!
thanks for your post, as well as for your comment on my blog. i looooove the one and only handmade afghan my parents own, and enjoy snuggling under it when i'm visiting them. maybe i should get one of my own to love . . . ;)
