WFMW - Wow that was a quick week!

Wow! Am I the only one who feels like lately time seems to be flying by in chunks? How can a week have past already?

Anyway, Works-for-Me Wednesday is here again.

Here's what you can do when you have a present that needs to be wrapped in a hurry, but discover that you're all out of appropriately-themed wrapping paper. Use the wrapping paper you have (be it Christmas or Birthday or Bridal Shower) to wrap the present, only wrap the present with the paper folded inside-out. (If the gift is small enough, you can use a sheet of white printer paper.) Then use the white as a blank canvas. Grab three or four crayons or markers (in complementary colors) all at once and scribble or doodle squiggles and loops all over the present. Or have one of your little Picassos decorate it for you. Either way, the present will be come out looking great.

Wrapping paper in a pinch - Works-for-Me!

Now head over to Rocks in My Dryer for very helpful Works-For-Me ideas. Go before another week flies by!

Yep, we've done it too! I also have personalized stamps with the kids' names on them - I'll let them go to town with their names on the paper and it makes them feel like an important part.

Creating your own wrapping paper is great fun, and as you say it can save money too. One Christams when I was younger my sister and I made all our wrapping paper for that year - using cheap white paper and painting on designs. We did funky tartan effects, potato printing and all sorts!

We've done this so many times! Adding some cute curly ribbon and we rubber stamp our paper...no one would know!

It's a great idea! Thanks for sharing!

Great idea! And hey, if the gift is opened carefully, that mom can reverse the paper back and use it for a wedding gift, LOL.

Great idea! We've also used the colored comic section of the weekend funnies. And unprinted newsprint works great for the budding artist for making their own wrap.

Great use of what's already on hand!

I've made my own wrapping paper before with a regular sheet of white paper, but I've never thought of turning my other wrapping paper inside out! I usually just turn to newspaper if I run out..or if I'm lucky I'll remember to keep a roll of brown packaging paper around. Thanks for the tips!

I do this all the time now. Just keep Christmas paper on hand for the copious wrapping that happens at that time of year, and then turn it inside out for all other occasions. My kids love to help too.

Smart! I also use kids' art as wrapping paper, since I tend to have tons of that lying around - but your idea is so inventive!

I have used freezer paper and aluminum foil as well. Also, decorator printer paper works for small things. Excellent reminder! Thanks!

Stickers would be fun to add too, wouldn't they? I never thought of turning the paper inside out. I love reusing gift bags because I am not a very good or neat wrapper.
