Today we signed and faxed off our adoption referral acceptance letters!
We have decided to adopt two toddlers. A little boy, whom I'll call "Bear" who is a little over two years old and a little girl, I'll refer to as, "Lem Lem" who is a little less than two years.
We're thrilled. It just feels right.
Last Wednesday the package we had be waiting for arrived late in the afternoon. It contained referral paperwork and videos. We poured over the information and watched the videos and then we had a family discussion. Yesterday we took the information we had about the two children we felt like God was leading us to adopt to a terrific pediatrician with experience in international adoption and referrals. She was so incredibly helpful, even gave us her home phone number to use in the event we have more questions! As Dr. S. didn't send up any red flags, we felt comfortable proceeding. So today we faxed off the acceptance forms.
Now we wait. The next step is being assigned a court date in Ethiopia. Please keep us in your prayers. Until the kids are safe at home with us, nothing is a guarantee. Many unwanted things can happen - paperwork snafus, health issues, unseen legal problems, serious illness, etc. - that might delay or even prevent us from bringing these babies home.
I wish I could show you pictures of our new little ones. But our agency requires us to wait until the children are legally ours to do so. Believe me, as soon as I can, I will.
